Website, document, bank, KYC, and category readiness notes for smoother payment gateway or merchant onboarding.

Website Checklist for Onboarding

  • Legal business name should be visible and match the onboarding form.
  • Clear description of products, services, pricing, and business category should be available.
  • About Us, Contact, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Shipping & Return Policy, Refund/Cancellation Policy, and service delivery information should be linked.
  • Email, phone number, and address should be visible and consistent across the website and onboarding application.
  • The website must be live and functional during the onboarding review.

Penny Verification Failed

If penny verification fails, upload valid bank account proof through the onboarding portal. Bank verification may be real-time, but document-based review can take additional time after submission.

Website Showing an Error

If the website shows an error, collect the URL, screenshot, browser/device details, and issue time. Once required details are received, website support issues are typically targeted within 24 to 48 hours depending on hosting, domain, DNS, or code cause.

Website Not Live

A live and functional website is usually required for merchant onboarding. Discrepancies between the website and onboarding form can cause verification errors and delays.

Banned Business Categories

Before submitting onboarding details, confirm that the business does not fall under the payment provider's restricted or banned category list. Use the latest list provided in the onboarding dashboard or by the payment provider.

Documents in Error State

After correcting document errors or uploading requested documents, verification is generally reviewed within 24 hours where information is complete. Continue monitoring the resolution trail because additional information may be requested.

Aadhaar OTP Not Received

Ensure the Aadhaar number is linked to the mobile number used for OTP. If OTP is unavailable, use the alternate Aadhaar XML route where the onboarding platform supports it.

Video KYC Availability

If the signing authority is unavailable for Video KYC, use schedule KYC where available. If VKYC is optional in the onboarding flow, it may be skipped and completed later through the dashboard.

UBO or Shareholding Details

If manual UBO entry is difficult, upload the shareholding pattern document where the onboarding platform allows it. Follow the reference format to avoid delays.
